About Us
Heartwood Therapy Place is a woman-owned mental health organization dedicated to providing individual and family counseling to the Louisville and Southern Indiana area. Our office is ready to see clients with or without insurance from all ages.
Our office is the winner of the 2020 Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant. Thank you to the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government, Department of Economic Development for helping us to continue to serve our community.

Our goal is to help clients who are struggling with emotional or behavioral health and want to learn new coping skills. We aim to assist clients function at their best and to work towards self-sufficiency through the appropriate therapy for them.
Life Counseling
For clients who are undergoing life transitions, childhood or school problems, or other related mental health issues. We provide life-based counseling for individuals and families.
Trauma
Focused on teens and adults experiencing trauma, we offer a variety of therapy techniques such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reporcessing) to help you heal.
Mental Conditions
Our clinicians are professionally trained to help with many different mental conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other serious and more persistent mental illnesses.

What hours are you open?
We are open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Specific therapy times vary.
What ages do you see for therapy?
Our Clinicians are able to work with clients of all ages.
Do you accept insurance?
We are happy to accept insurance for individual and family therapy including Medicare, Medicaid, Humana, Anthem, and other commercial insurances. If you have an insurance that is not listed, please contact our office to see if one of our skilled clinicians is credentialed with your insurance panel. Unfortunately, because insurance companies do not identify couple’s counseling as a medical necessity, we are unable to bill for it.

What can I expect when getting started?
The first step is to call and speak to our professional staff. We’ll get your information and match you with the best therapist based on your insurance, schedule, and theraputic needs. From there, we’ll get you scheduled with your initial intake appointment where your therapist will set expectations, gather background information, and identify your problems or diagnosis.
